Baked Pasta

When my girls think about comfort food, this is their go-to. My family has been making this baked pasta, also referred to as Mick's Pasta (my grandfather's name), for the past fifty years. It's absurdly simple to make and one of my most crave-able foods. Of course, if you're GF and Dairy-Free, look away now.

Recipe Notes
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Cook pasta for 6-7 minutes (definitely not fully cooked or even al dente). Drain and run cold water over to separate strands and remove starch.
In a big bowl, add cooked pasta, pureed tomatoes, grated cheddar cheese, Tabasco and Worcestershire sauces, onion and garlic. Mix until well combined. Taste and if it needs more of Tabasco or Worcestershire or even salt, add whatever your taste desires.
Put into a casserole dish and cover with a lid or tin-foil. Bake for 30-40 minutes, uncover and let cook another 10 minutes until the top is bubbly and even has a few pieces of pasta that are slightly blackened. As a child, this was my favorite bit!

I was just thinking about this recipe the other day! Years ago I had the pleasure of watching you make this after an awesome day skiing in Colorado. It was the perfect dish and I remember waking up at 2 am to scarf down another bowl. I can’t WAIT to make this for my kids—they will surely love it because it’s pasta and cheese but more so because it’s from your kitchen! Sometime can you post about your salad dressing and wood bowl? Your salads are my absolute favorite.
Yeah, it’s one of the only foods I actually really, really crave. It’s pure love comfort food. Sure, I’ll post about my salad, but damn I don’t ever think I do anything out of the ordinary. I honestly think the magic is all in the bowl I’ve used for the past 23 years and never once washed with soap… xo
